Professional development -
888.com recognizes that investment in the professional development of its people is a key factor in the ongoing success of the group. This year, the company has developed a leadership program (along the lines of Ken Blanchard, Myers Briggs, etc.) which focuses on providing our managers with the best global managerial tools and solutions for leading and managing their employees successfully.
The leadership program focused on coaching managers to adopt appropriate leadership styles to suit individuals in their team and to develop the behavior required by managers to achieve excellent performance and team work.
Building on effective communication and motivation skills and concentrating on the relationship between manager and employee, the program succeeded in enabling managers to analyze and resolve a variety of possible situations that they may experience and to apply themselves in the most appropriate way, further embedding the company's value of leadership in its daily operations.
Ensuring that our staff has all the skills and knowledge required to do its job well and assisting them to develop the next generation of products and services is crucial to a growing business. The company is dedicated to the professional development of its employees so that they can achieve their personal aspirations.
Training is therefore part of life at 888.com.
Training initiatives are offered both internally and externally and include technical skills as well as soft skills training. In 2007, 80% of all company employees participated in internal and/or external professional training seminars.
The training sections were divided into three levels – soft skill training, technological training and industry training. In each training section, we used professional trainers together with well-designed materials.
This year we have also initiated a “Train the Trainer” internal program which focuses on assisting expert employees to improve their presentational skills and their professionalism for internal training needs.
